"Vancouver's Sarah Marshall is a deft and perceptive young songwriter with a fresh, pristine voice, a talent reminiscent of another Sarah M. from around these parts." - The Province

Sarah Marshall was born in Colombo, Sri Lanka and travelled with her family until a year of pre-school in Lima, Peru after which they settled into a home in Vancouver, Canada. After studying musical theatre locally for two years after highschool, Sarah moved to Montreal where she trained and worked in the healing arts. During these years, her voice, and love for songwriting emerged.

Encouraged to pursue writing by teachers during both her early and later school years, Sarah, after much career experimentation!, has indeed settled into this as her most joyful vocation. As Sarah also has a unique gift with children, she is now assisting young people with their own creative writing - poetry & stories, as well as songwriting.

Sarah has sung with children's entertainer, Charlotte Diamond, on 'My Bear Gruff' (1993) and more recently with Alpha Ya-Ya Diallo on his Juno nominated album 'Djama' (2005).

Sarah's own debut album 'All The Dreamers' has been played consistently by CBC Radio since it's release in the fall of 2003. One of the tracks, 'This Young Man', was the most requested song of 2004 on 'Richardson's Round-up'. Music from another track 'Underwater', was used in the award winning film, 'Moving Malcolm' (2003).

Her latest work for a soundtrack was writing and singing 'If Only', the theme song for 'Love & Other Dilemmas' (2006), starring Fred Ewanuick and Gabrielle Miller ('Corner Gas').

Sarah is currently recording her second album with Budge Schachte (that dynamic duo) and performing round and about with her lovely musicians.
